SoTeZ Horse Ranch began as a love for all animals, but especially for horses. This love of horses and going on rides or 'calbagatas' is a passion shared between Joel Jiménez and Hector Ortiz Ramirez.
Joel Jiménez is originally from Southern California but comes to San Miguel often to visit his mother, family and tend to his horses. His love of horses began as a young boy attending summer camp in Big Bear, California and participating in horsemanship classes. He fell in love with a horse that he cared for every summer named 'Shoshonee', named after the Native American tribe of the same name. Every time he visited San Miguel as an adult, he would go riding with other outfits in the area. In summer of 2021, he decided to rescue and adopt his very first horse, a black mare named Mía, and thus began his obsession with horses and ranch life...
Señor Hector is originally from San Miguel but lived abroad in Chicago for 8 years. His heart has always been in México and thus, returned home to San Miguel to start 'Rancho Los Pintos' with his brother Darwin. Señor Hector was raised around horses and was taught early on in the style of 'Charro', or Mexican horseman who practices 'charreria', the national sport of México, and is considered one of México's most important traditions...
From Hector and Joel's passion of horses, began a friendship, a bond and the creation of SoTeZ Horse Ranch in Summer of 2022.
The Ranch/El Rancho...
